Mike
This village is stretching in the southern region of the county, in its north-western border, between Kadarkút and Lábod in a wonderful natural setting. The Rinya brook flows accross Mike, the village is embraced by forests and fishponds. The pride of the village is the locally protected 200-year-old beech. The fauna is variegated – protected birds nest among the leafy boughs. The rich gamestock attracts numerous foreign hunters who gladly visit the hunters’ lodge. Mike’s coat-of-arms shows well its agricultural character with potato and tobbacco as symbols. Here we can find the castle and a mausoleum of the Somssich family and a granary but unfortunately each of them is declining.
