Baté
Baté is a village of 850 inhabitants eastwards from Kaposvár, along the main road Nr. 61, halfway between Kaposvár and Dombóvár, only 12 kilometres from each. It is a junction municipality with hospitable and cheerful villagers. It has got excellentt traffic conditions laying by the main road and the Budapest-Gyékényes railway line also passes through the village. It was populated before the common era, it is proved by and the metal rings and the tools from the neolithic period. The finds are kept in the National Museum. The earliest written document about the municipality dates back to the 14th century. In the village we find a private fishing pond which awaits the anglers from April to September, Monday to Friday between 8am and 7pm. The steam mill was reconstructed in 2013 which now homes exhibitions and programmes related to cherising of traditions.
